CAMBRIDGE
King's College chapel is the jewel in the crown,
a superb example of perpendicular architecture. Its interior is perfectly proportioned,
with wonderful 16th-century stained glass and a magnificent Gothic-style fan-vault
ceiling. The chapel is best viewed from the river or the secluded walks of the
'backs', a mixture of smooth lawns, formal gardens and informal open spaces on
the banks of the River Cam.
